Does marching with MBI Winter Guard take a lot of time?

MBI Winterguard rehearses Friday evenings and Saturday days. The season begins in November and concludes the second week of April with World Championships in Dayton, OH. Members are typically able to balance a healthy school and work balance while performing with MBI.

Is performing with MBI WG expensive?

Season dues and expenses are announced at auditions and have remained consistent for the past seasons and will do so for the future. Dues are all encompassing of total performing and travel expenses. Additional costs for jackets and apparel are extra. The great thing is that Minnesota Brass provides numerous fundraising opportunities that can off-set or even pay for an entire season.

I have never marched winter guard before, do I have a chance?

You never know unless you try. Passion and work ethic will take you far, we’ll teach you the rest.

Where are rehearsals held?

Rehearsals are held throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Carpooling opportunities from other teammates are typically available.

Can I attend auditions even if I’m not looking to join the team this season?

Absolutely. We encourage anyone and everyone to come enjoy a day of spinning, learning new choreography and meeting new people.

What’s the age limit?

MBIWG accepts members age 18-23 (cannot turn 24 before April 1 of the current competitive season).
