MBI Winds was founded in 2023 as a all-instruments, hornline-focused extension to Minnesota Brass Drum & Bugle Corps. MBI Winds competes in Independent Open class of the Minnesota Percussion Association (MPA) and Winter Guard International (WGI). In this short time MBI Winds has been a two-time WGI Finalist finishing in 4th place the first two seasons.
