Volunteer for extra duties as needed

Recruiting
Assist with the recruiting process throughout the season and through the end of the calendar year
Working with Staff and Admin
Proactively communicate section issues to Caption Supervisors, Program Coordinator, or Directors
Assist in communicating staff/admin issues to sections
Available after rehearsals for 10-15 minute huddles
Section Leader Expectations
Sectionals
Hold sectionals as necessary
Attendance
Awareness of who will be missing each rehearsal and who will be late
Call missing members on first break
Follow up with missing members via text, instant message, phone and/or e-mail
Maintain regular communication with out-of-town members throughout the winter
Discuss attendance and being on time to rehearsals with your section regularly, e.g. ask who will be gone next week
Section Leadership - Provide leadership by:
Encouraging optimal membership behaviors (practicing at home, use of drone and metronome, memorization, being on time, posting videos of personal practice, etc.)
Getting fields painted when assigned
Providing rehearsal, camp and show day leadership to section
Establish and hold members accountable to horn arc and rehearsal etiquette
Be accessible to members via email/instant message/text/phone
Horn Sergeant - Provide leadership by following the section leader guidelines plus:
Coordinating field lining
Coordinating aerobic warm-up/stretch
Coordinating warm-up arc/circle
Drum Major Expectations
Show Responsibilities
Fully learn all musical aspects of the show and be able to confidently conduct any section of the corps during rehearsal
Rehearsal Equipment/Set Up
Assure rehearsal facilities are appropriately set up by the time rehearsal is scheduled to start i.e. podiums, yard-line markers, ladders, long rangers, etc.). This will require coming early by 20-30 minutes from the posted rehearsal start time
Assure all rehearsal equipment noted above is appropriately packed away at the end of rehearsal. This will require staying later by 20-30 minutes from the posted rehearsal end time
Be able to run drone, metronome, and amplification equipment effectively and efficiently
Communication
Assist Directors, Membership Coordinator or lead staff in communicating schedules, meetings, or other changes to published schedule to the members and other staff during rehearsals, camps or show days
Member Leadership
Serve as a positive role model for all members of the corps
Actively reach out and support new members to become comfortable and well-informed of Minnesota Brass culture and expectations
Proactively provide leadership during camps, rehearsals and trips
Gain and share a working knowledge of the history of the corps
