Does marching with MBI Indoor Percussion take a lot of time?

MBI Indoor rehearses Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. The season begins in late September and concludes the second week of April with World Championships in Dayton, OH. Members are typically able to balance a healthy school and work balance while performing with Brass Indoor.  You can find the calendar for the upcoming season HERE.

Is performing with MBI Indoor Percussion expensive?

Season dues and expenses are announced at auditions and have remained consistent for the past seasons and will do so for the future. Dues are all encompassing of total performing and travel expenses. Additional costs for jackets and apparel are extra. The great thing is that Minnesota Brass provides numerous fundraising opportunities that can off-set or even pay for an entire season.

I have never marched winter drumline before, do I have a chance?

You never know unless you try. Passion and work ethic will take you far, we’ll teach you the rest.

Where are rehearsals held?

Rehearsals are held throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Carpooling opportunities from other teammates are typically available.  In recent seasons, we have mostly rehearsed in Eagan at Silver Bell Learning Center and in Hastings at Hastings Middle School.

Can I audition even if I’m not looking to join the team this season?

Absolutely! We encourage anyone and everyone to come enjoy a day of spinning, learning new choreography and meeting new people.  High Schoolers are highly recommended to check out the audition process as well!

What’s the age limit?

MBI Indoor Percussion accepts members age 17-22 (cannot turn 23 before April 1st of the current competitive season).
